In my asynchronous courses, I typically have a page of instruction (with text, videos, or interactive H5P items) then a quiz assignment. When students ask questions that have been addressed by the instruction when they get to the assignment, if a video is part of the content, I can check if they have watched that, but I am unable to tell if they have viewed the page. This makes it difficult to give students the most appropriate feedback.
Include analytics as one of the page options from the vertical ellipses menu. Include on it how long students had the page active. This will improve instructor understanding of student work, can help create more learner accountability. The instructor will also be able to determine whether instruction that is viewed by many students is sufficient or not.
