Parent Observers should not be able to see the student's assignment other than the grade and/or feedback from the instructor. Giving observers access to the work student's have turned in feels like a privacy issue. For instance, when students write they should be able to do so with freedom and have assurance that an Observer cannot read their thoughts. What if a student wants to write about a sensitive issue? They should have the confidence to do this without having a parent have access to it. The only way we can keep this from happening is turn off Grades for Observers. They most definitely need to see the students grade but not the actual assignment the student turned in. Please consider giving admins more options in turning features on/off for observer accounts.
