Reinstating Ability to Filter Discussion Topics by Author

This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas

This search function used to be available at the Discussion course navigation level along with search by title and body of the message. Since the design updates in June of 2018, it is missing. We would like the functionality reinstated. It significantly reduces the usefulness of the Discussion search.

I know... this was the very idea I posted a few years ago, resolved, but

now it's gone back to where we started. I feel defeated...

I'm so sorry, mhirai; I didn't scroll up to see that you authored this idea! In light of the fact that it was marked Complete (it turns out in error) over a year ago, I would expect that a newly-authored would garner more attention and support than simply reopening this idea is likely to attract. Would you be willing to copy and paste the idea into a new submission so it can be discussed anew? If not, we can reopen this one: please let us know what you decide.
