Due dates cannot currently be removed from assignments via batch edit if they are set to post to SIS. This requires the user to go to the Assignments page and click the sync icon for each individual assignment to turn off the sync setting in order to remove the due date via batch editing. Teachers often import an entire curriculum of assignments from previous courses without removing the due dates, often leaving them published as well. Students and parents see these published assignments with past due dates as missing assignments.
Adding a way to turn off the sync to SIS in the batch edit settings would make the batch edit function much more effective, since the sync could be turned off for all selected assignments at once, allowing the due dates to likewise be removed. Currently, the batch edit feature is a nice idea but not fully realized, since it doesn't really save time for assignments that are set to sync to SIS.
