[Sections] Offer more options to allocate members (II)

Problem statement:

With the new developments around course sections, these have become a great way of assigning students to course content according to areas of interest, for example. The allocation options should take these extended application scenarios into account.

Proposed solution:

Similar to groups, there should also be extended allocation options for course sections. For example: the option of self-enrolment with a maximum number of slots and a to-do date and closing time as well as an option to allocate students evenly to all (selected) course sections.

Because of this alignment, would you mind editing your Proposed Solution to focus on the other aspect of your request?

Dear Kristin, 
I don't see any similarities. The other idea adresses the issue of self-enrolment in a course. This issue here is all about course sections and about (maybe) an option to offer a self-sign up for sections without the need of accepting invitations. Where do you see the similarities?

Thank you for the additional clarification. I saw the parallel in the need to set limits to a section, but rereading your problem statement, I see where a different solution is needed. The thread will continue through the Ideas & Themes process.

If you'd you like to edit an idea, there is a kabob menu (stacked three dots)near the breadcrumbs at the top of the thread. There, you should see the option to edit.
