[Student Grades] be able to turn off What If grades calculation

Problem statement:

confusing that the students can change their own grades , even if just so for calculations. we dont use grades in our canvas, just approved work assignments.

Proposed solution:

would be cool to have a setting that lets you turn of this options to reduce elements to confuse the students uneccesary

Problem statement:

In the students grades I would like to be able to disable the "What if grades" option.

Proposed solution:

This may be useful for college students, however not useful for middle schoolers. The tendency is to use this to see if it's worth doing an assignment at all! They can use it to figure out that if they get a zero on it it won't impact their grade that much. But as a middle school student it's not about the points or grade it's about doing the assignment, working with the information, processing and practicing. Please consider letting teachers have the option of that in the gradebook or not. Thank you
