Canvas Student Release Notes (iOS 7.16)

Canvas iOS app version updates are distributed in a phased rollout, which distributes the update to all users enrolled in automatic updates over time. The features in these notes may not immediately be available, but iOS users can manually update the app at any time in the App Store. The Canvas Student iOS App requires iOS 16.0 or later.

Student App Updates

• New widget added for displaying To Dos from the Calendar.
• Additional guidance included on the QR login screen.
• Assignment Details scores accurately reflect late penalties.
• Groups remain visible on the dashboard after the initial login refresh.
• Scrolling through the grade list screen is improved.
• Inbox messages no longer display on Notifications page.
• Discussions are accessible for users in cross-listed or cross-shared courses.
• WebView adjusts correctly when switching between Dark and Light modes.
• Submitted files in New Quizzes open as expected.
• External tool links open properly from Pages content.
• Studio videos download successfully for offline viewing.
• Embedded media playback stops appropriately when navigating to a different module item.
• Accessibility improvements across multiple screens.
