I am trying to setup a user roll that can only see grades and attendance. I created a roll called Career Technician (permission.jpg). When the user looks at their menu they have a whole bunch off items that we dont want (menue.jpg). How can I set this roll up to only view grades and attendance?

I do not think it will be possible to limit which course navigation menu items show up for this role. The notes within the permissions settings for "Manage Course Content - add / edit / delete" say that at least one of these is required for users to be able to launch the Attendance tool. But editing the course content also allows the role to edit announcements, assignments, modules, etc. Sorry to say it won't be possible to restrict this Career Technician role in the ideal way.

I marked @stimme's response as the solution because I do believe it reflects the current capabilities of Canvas.  You could submit an idea to separate permissions out more to help make your use case possible, but I wouldn't expect that to happen quickly as it would likely be a major undertaking to change and ensure there were no unintended consequences.

I hope this explanation helps you a bit as well.
