Add "PAUSE QUIZ" feature for teachers! This is LONG over due.

At the secondary level, we desperatley need an ability for teachers to "PAUSE" a student test.  Scenario:

Student has Period 1 Math Test

Student has extended time accommodation (time extension is easily added in "Moderate Quiz").  However, the student is alotted more time that the 60 minute period (student gets time and a half "90 minutes").

Student has resource class with Sped Period 3. Which would be the ideal time to finish the rest of the test and use their accommodation.

Currently, there is no way for the teacher to "PAUSE" the test at the end of Period 1, and then "RESUME" the test for this student Period 3 when they get to their resource class.

This is long overdue and would have a HUGE positive impact on some of our kids that need the best support.

It sounds to me like you are suggesting an enhancement to the way New Quizzes works within Canvas.  (FYI, Instructure is not really adding new functionality to current Classic Quizzes any more.)  In order to suggest a new idea, you'd need to post that in a different area of the Community.  Here's a link:

I am not suggesting anything be added to "NEW QUIZZES", because no one actually uses that. 

Classic Quizzes is what is used by the vast majority of long term users.  What I'm suggesting is that this feature be added to CLASSIC QUIZZES; which is actually functional for the needs of most academic institutions that use question banks, collect data, and have been heavy users of Canvas for many years.

Thank you for the reply.  However, as I stated in my original reply back in September 2023, there is little to no new work being done on Classic Quizzes.  Rather, Instructure is focusing their time and effort on New Quizzes.  I understand you'd like to see some new enhancements and/or features of Classic Quizzes, but I just don't think that's going to happen, unfortunately.  The thing to do would be to create a new idea suggestion for New Quizzes.

It is also not true that no one actually uses New Quizzes.  I've seen a variety of posts here in the Community where some schools that were new to Canvas in the past few years have chosen to utilize New Quizzes right away and not even use Classic Quizzes.  However, there are schools that have chosen to wait to make New Quizzes available to their faculty.  So, while I do understand what you are saying about the wide use of Classic Quizzes, there are many that do use New Quizzes as well.

I hope this helps to provide some clarification.
