Analytics mismatch with Gradebook

I just discovered that there the "current course grade" in Analytics doesn't match up with the total grade as it appears on Gradebook. I also noticed that a student who was added to the class after the start date is missing from Analytics even if the Gradebook roster has been updated. Can anyone explain what is going on? Is this simply a delay in updating the data in Analytics?

If you have new analytics turned on there is a 48 hour delay, so you will see differences between the analytics and the course.
