In our district, we do not count late points for non-school days. Currently, Canvas does not take weekends into account when deducting late points. I was wondering if there was a way of having weekends not count toward late points on student submissions. I understand it would be too complex to align with district calendars and the school holidays, but it would save me quite a bit of time and work of having to go back and update days late if weekends were not counted.

Hi @ChemTeach13,
Unfortunately, as you may have guessed already, this is not something that's currently possible in an automated way in Canvas as far as I know. You could certainly submit this as an idea for future consideration, though as you mentioned this could start to get very complex very quickly depending how it was developed (as a Canvas admin, I could imagine checkboxes to select which days of the week to count towards the penalty, but others could have even more complex implementation ideas).
I hope at least having this info helps a bit.
