Blueprint syncing course settings on first run and changing home page to modules

This was brought up years ago and really should be fixed. Why, why, why would you assume we wanted to sync course settings (thus swapping out the home page) on the first sync? Who thought taking away this control was a good idea?
Current workflow:
1. New term released on Canvas, courses created from template.
2. Push content to new courses from blueprint.
3. ARGH I HAVE TO GO INTO EACH COURSE AND RESET HOME PAGE.
Anybody know of a workaround? I do not want to put the homepage in the blueprint as it would overwrite any changes faculty made should we need to sync again.
Just thought of a potential change - have homepage in BP on first sync, then delete from BP before subsequent syncs, but I don't want to have to do that every 8 weeks.
