When I added the Passport to CANVAS as a course and switched to student view, the images are not showing, instead, there are images of locks. Checking the files loaded into my account, all I have are the template images but no course images.

This is a public discussion board for Canvas users from different schools all over the world, so I'm afraid we don' t know what "Passport" is.
When you see a lock in place of an image in student view, that means that there is a permissions problem preventing students from seeing the image. It might mean that the image files are not published or are not available to students, or it might mean that you have some imported content and the image links are actually pointing to image files in the previous course (which students in the current course don't have access to).
My first step when this kind of problem arises is to use the Link Validation tool in Canvas, which will look for broken links and other problems that would prevent content from being available to students.
