[ARCHIVED] Can I add a link in a Google Slide to a Canvas page?

I've joined the craze and made a Bitmoji Classroom that I will use as my Canvas homepage.  I made the "classroom" in Google Slides.  I'd like to have a "To Do" list on the "classroom" where students will click and be sent to another place within Canvas.  Can I create a clickable link that will send them to assignments. 

(I know how to embed the Google Slides into Canvas- all search options keep sending me to that.)

Hi -

Your url will be unique to your course, but it should work to link: https://{yourinstitution}.instructure.com/courses/###/assignments (Click Assignments, then copy the URL at the top of the screen)

Your view will look different than what your students experience because of your unique roles. They'll see what the should.

Question about adding the URL link... If I have uploaded specific files to that Canvas Course, can I attach a link to those files for students to view, or will they only be viewable by me because they are my files?

Hi @MalloryJessee ...

If you have uploaded some files to your "Files" area of your Canvas course, you can create a content page within your Canvas course where you could create a listing of those files that you wanted your students to access.  (I'm also assuming here that you've hidden your "Files" course navigation menu from your students.)  For example...

Using this Guide, you can set your files to "Only available with link".  Then, using this link, you could create a page listing your files you want students to access:

Another option for you would be to create a module in your course, and then you could add each file to your module.  This might not be the best option (I would personally go with my first suggestion), but it is another option for you.
