Canvas Setting to Block Student Access to a Test

Jump to solution

Is there a setting that will block student access to a test AFTER the test has been completed and graded?

We use departmental tests and don't want the test questions floating around in the general population, which is happening because students currently have access to the tests after they are done.

Is there a specific setting that should be selected?

Thank you.

@natsmy  Yes, but the way of accomplishing it is different depending on whether you are using Classic Quizzes or New Quizzes.

In Classic Quizzes, uncheck the box "Let Students See Their Quiz Responses".

For New Quizzes, open the quiz builder and click on "Settings" at the top.  At the bottom of the settings list is "Restrict student result view", toggle that on and then you can pick the options that you want to allow.

You can make both of these changes at any time so many times we will have a window, such as during class time, that we allow them to look and then we switch the settings to block it.  Some faculty choose to not let them ever see the individual question results (not sure I agree with that but it is what works for them).
