Canvas assigns random negative fudge points to students in Canvas quiz?

I have encountered an issue where Canvas assigned random negative fudge points to student quizzes. I noticed that other instructors encountered this issue as far back as 2019, and yet it seems nothing has been done to resolve it. My quiz was not timed, and there was no late policy on it. The students submitted it in time (before the due date), but some of them got -1 fudge points automatically added to the quiz, others had -2 fudge points, while others had -3 fudge points. Some of the students didn't have any fudge points added. It seemed like a randomized glitch in the Canvas software. People previously thought this was an issue with New Quizzes (from the archived messages I found in the Canvas community), but I'm not using the New Quizzes feature. Could this problem be fixed, please? I have 127 students, and I had to go to every student's quiz through Speed Grader to change the fudge points to zero and correct the grades. This is very annoying and frustrating. Canvas IT people should have fixed this problem years ago!
