My student started online schooling a week ago and has been completing all scheduled modules, tests, and live group sessions each day. A majority of the graded assignments are showing as missing, and the modules show that they have not been opened or completed at all. Some graded assignments show that they are both graded and missing at the same time. I can see on his Canvas history that it doesn't seem to be tracking his activity accurately every day. Some days it shows where he's clocked into each class and assignment, but some days it shows as if he only clicked one thing and did nothing all day, and I know that isn't the case.
His homeroom teacher reached out about the missing assignments and I've responded back with the above issue, but it was after hours so I won't get a response for a while.
I've attached pictures, sorry that they're pictures of my monitor.
@BecBec8989 That is a puzzler. Without access to your instance (which the folks at Canvas Support have), I would guess that these activities are possible third-party assignments, so the submission of the work is not triggering a submission flag. How are these set up? Are they using Canvas Quizzes/New Quizzes/Assignments? Are they external tool assignments? If so, what is the tool you are using? Do the assignments have due dates set on them?
The quick solutions is that you should be able to change the status on these manually (see How do I change the status of a submission in the Gradebook?😞
This should then trigger things correctly for the prerequisites as well.
Hi @BecBec8989,
My guess would be similar to @james_whalley.
Just on a hunch, I did a search for "2.06 Quiz: Managing Stress Part 2" and "3.06 Quiz: Factoring Patterns". When doing that, I found https://quizlet.com/489584737/206-quiz-managing-stress-part-2-flash-cards and https://quizlet.com/621931810/306-quiz-factoring-patterns-flash-cards (as well as https://quizlet.com/727684095/306-quiz-factoring-patterns-flash-cards).
Do you know if these "asisgnments" or "quizzes" were on Quizlet?
If they were on Quizlet, it seems that there is a "glitch" or miscommunication or limitation.
Are you able to provide us with more information?
