Change to YouTube search?

Can you change the YouTube search box so I can paste a URL for a video into it and it will find the video it links to? I'm sick of my videos looking wonky because search will find some videos, but then when I search for other ones- even if I use the EXACT SAME TITLE FROM YOUTUBE, it doesn't pull up that video but instead pulls up a ton of unrelated videos. As a result, I use the YouTube tool for some and embed the rest- and end up with teeny tiny videos, while the ones I do manage to find in search are nice and big. I can't resize any of them, so it looks weird.

Hi  @jennifer_henegh ...

I'm not really sure what you mean by a "YouTube search box".  Are you asking about the YouTube button that is available within the RCE (Rich Content Editor) when you are editing content pages in your course?    If so (and this is just my own personal opinion), I would recommend searching for your videos first on the YouTube website.  Then, you can grab the embed code from that video.   When you are back in your Canvas course using the RCE, press Alt+F9 on your keyboard to bring up a hidden text-based menu.  Choose "Insert" >> "Media".  Then, select the "Embed" tab.  Paste in the embed code that you harvested from the YouTube website.  This will embed the YouTube video nicely into your content page of your course.

I have encountered the same problem; the YouTube tool in Canvas does not yield the same search results as searching on www.youtube.com when using the exact same search term(s).
