Changing Quiz Deadlines After Release

Reopening an archived thread that was not solved: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Archived-Questions/ARCHIVED-Change-quiz-due-date-after-it-became-...

I changed the due date for a New Quiz that was released because we didn't finish a lecture that was relevant to that quiz.  The change was reflected on the course calendar, which indicated to me that the change was made.  Additionally, when I changed the deadline, I checked to see if any student had already submitted and saw that was true for one student so I manually reopened their quiz.

I thought this was enough diligence on my part, but it seems that any student that had already opened the quiz had their quiz close (message: "Time's up.") immediately after attempting to open it after the original deadline (but well before the extended deadline).  This is a 200+ person course, so this applied to many students.  There was really no way to solve this efficiently -- I made announcements asking students to attempt to open so that I could manually reopen them all at once, but I spent days responding to individual requests to reopen.

Could you all please look at this issue again?  There are many reasons why instructors would need to extend a deadline for all students.  Thank you!
