Hello. I want to add a closed caption to my instructor’s PowerPoint. How do I add this feature so it's available for all of my classes?

I'm not sure I completely understand your question.  Is the PowerPoint presentation you are viewing an actual PowerPoint file that contains slides?  Are there video/audio components within the PowerPoint presentation where there are no closed captions?  Or, are you maybe watching a video from your instructor where he/she has included a PowerPoint presentation, and he/she is talking about the PowerPoint slides shown on the screen?  Maybe a screenshot of what you are seeing would be helpful.  If you could please provide some more information, that would be great...thanks!

Hi @Janice102,

Adding captions is generally something that your teacher would have to do.  There are various methods for adding video to Canvas, and some more easily support captioning than others.  Have you asked your teacher about having captions added?  There may be resources your school/university has in place to help your teacher if needed, but unfortunately as part of the global Canvas community, we don't really have access to specific information like that for every school.  I hope your instructor will be understanding and get at least automated captions added for you if you request them.
