Discussion Board Weirdness

Colleagues,

We're still using Discussions Classic. An instructor has created a group forum (two student groups) so that students only see and reply to their student group. The 'show responses after posting' is selected. All settings look normal. But one student who posted early cannot be seen by the other students no matter what I try and no matter if they post or not. May be worth noting that this appears to be isolated to the first student who posted.

Anyone seen this?

Thank you for contacting the Canvas Community. We're sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with discussion boards. When you say the other student posted  "early" what do you mean? If before the groups were actually created, or the discussion set to a group discussion and then the teacher made those adjustments after the fact- unfortunately the other students won't see it. That posting is in  the "main" discussion but now all groups or subjected to only their group portion of the discussion. Basically, the student needs to copy and paste that response into their group discussion now for others to see it. Hopefully this helps!
