What is the difference between a threaded and a focused discussion?

When you say you can set it up for podcast what does that mean?

for focused vs threaded - short answer focused is the original post and then one level in for all responses.  Threaded stair steps in as people reply to a post.

so threaded can look like:
initial post
    reply 1
          reply 2 to reply 1
                 etc
   reply 5

and focused discussions look like

initial post
   reply 1
   reply 2 to reply 1
   reply3
   etc
