I created a copy of all my modules this year with the intention of copying them back over to my new course this year. You know, no need to reinvent the wheel. Well, not I'm not able to edit any due dates. I've been to the Assignments Tab and tried to Batch Edit by shifting 365 days and also by removing the due date altogether. I still get an error about a closed grading period. Any suggestions?

Hi @ChristyCool,
It sounds like you're trying to set things up in an old course shell before the next year's course is made available to you. Am I correct in that assumption? If so, the issue is probably that your school locks down courses once the term/year is over. In most cases, you'd do adjustments like this when your new Canvas course site becomes available. When you use the import tool to get content from a different course into the new one, there will be a date adjustment or removal option as part of the process. That's probably going to be the way to go for a task like this. You could reach out to your local Canvas team (usually in the eLearning / IT / Digital Education areas) to find out when next year's course will be available to you.
Hope this helps a bit!

Oh no, so I already copied the old content to the new course. I did not see the option of changing the dates there. Does that mean that there is no way to change the dates once you copy in the content?
Hi @ChristineKing,
As long as the course shell is in a future or active term and you are enrolled as a teacher, you should be able to adjust dates without an issue. The issue ChristyCool seemed to have is that she was trying to adjust dates in an old course that was no longer editable.
Hope this helps clarify things!
