A lot of my students have Apple devices so of course they are uploading HECI files which Canvas has said that they cannot support. I don't have an apple device, I'm working on windows and downloading and converting their files types is not feasible.
I'd like to be able to restrict the types of file the students upload, which when I do I always end up missing some file type or another is there someway to just prevent the uploading of HECI files, so that the only restriction would be Not HECI?

If you are having students upload files via assignments, there is an option to specify the file type to upload. Regretfully, there is no such limitation on a Quiz or in a Discussion. The best thing you can do there is communication of expectations. I wish I had a better answer for you, but students learning how to follow instructions is a valuable lesson for them.
