Thanks very much for your reply! I'm aware of the solution and will mark your reply as the solution. The instructor was successful with saving the assignment after removing the old due date.
I just wanted to provide feedback about this feature based on the experience of our users using the new IU tray. We had a second instructor reach out to us about the same problem, too.
I actually wrote to Canvas Support last week, and they were the ones that suggest that I post this comment here. I was told "Unfortunately, we as Support Agents do not have a way to relay this feedback directly to our Engineering Team. The best way for your feedback to reach our Product Team and Engineering Team would be to leave a post in our Community or to submit an Idea. Both of these are monitored directly by our Product Managers."
I see also that user @marusak posted about it on the 7-20-24 Canvas Release Notes page.
