[ARCHIVED] Google LTI 1.3 Extension

The Google LTI 1.3 integration with Canvas is awesome for those of us who previously used Google Classroom, however, I can't get different Rubric add ons to work when I want to grade an assignment and it won't show up in Speedgrader. For example, OrangeSlice rubrics won't submit, Goobrics and Doctopus only ingest assignments from Google Classroom. What should I use that will work with this Canvas Integration?

Somewhere I read to open up a new assignment, name it, and save it. Then add the rubic. Finally, go back and attach the google file through the Google LTI external tool. I am able to grade the google file if I open it in one window and open up the rubric in another window. I entered the grade in both the Google Assignment window and the Canvas speedgrader. 

I have not tried Rubric add-ons. Didn't know there was such a thing that works with Canvas. Maybe adding the rubric following the above flow would work?

Hello @murphyr ...

I, too, am unfamiliar with some of the rubric tools that you mentioned that may work with Google Classroom (I've never used Google Classroom myself ... as I am a Canvas administrator in higher ed).  @jcof is on the right track, though...as far as Canvas rubrics are concerned.  If you want to use a regular Canvas rubric with a Google Cloud assignment, you would first create the assignment like normal and attach the Canvas rubric to it.  Save the assignment details.  Then, go back and edit the assignment once again...this time choosing the External Tool option and then the Google assignment option.  The Canvas rubric that you initially attached will still be part of the assignment (though you cannot see it), and you would still be able to grade the assignment via the SpeedGrader using the rubric.  Here are some Guides for you to look through:
