The Post Grades button is grayed out because Canvas's grading policy separates initial and subsequent submissions. When you posted grades for the first group, the system completed that command. The new submissions require a new command.
How to Fix It
- Grade the new submissions. You must enter a grade for the students who recently submitted their work.
- Access the Grade Posting Menu. In your Gradebook, find the assignment column. Hover over the title and click the three vertical dots that appear.
- Select "Post Grades." The Post Grades button should now be available. Select Graded in the side panel to release the new grades.
To avoid this in the future, it's easiest to grade and post all submissions at once. Otherwise, you'll need to repeat the "Post Grades" step for each new batch of graded assignments.
