Grading Scheme for Points-based within Choice Model course.

My school recently set a grading scheme at the Account level. It uses percentages.

For faculty who use points that divide evenly like 1000, there's no problem.

Canvas' grading scheme doesn't work well when entering a points grading scheme for faculty who use points greater than 1000 - it results in an error message. I looked but didn't find detailed info outside of the percentages grading scheme guide (What are grading schemes?).

Has anyone else discovered this issue? How

Hi @ShaneDeHorney,

When all is said and done, I believe any grade scheme in Canvas calculates as a percentage.  The points-based grade schemes help translate assignments worth less than 100 points into these percentages in the background, but I don't believe they work for points over 100 because of the rounding issues that would come into play.  I generally advise faculty at my institution to just use the standard percentage-based schemes to avoid all of the confusion the points-based schemes can cause.
