Because Canvas doesn't have a way to mark work due during the last week of 1st term as counting for 2nd term, I've put assignments due right before the end of term as having a due date when the next term starts (By the way, why can't we make an assignment count for next term? I don't want something due the last day of 1st term counted as 1st term. I want it on 2nd term.) However, I can't see the assignment in the gradebook. Is there a way to see 2nd term's grade book if it's currently 1st term? I'd like to get this work graded now so I don't have a huge stack of work piling up for the first week of the new term.
I think all of these issues are based on how your institution sets its term End Dates and Close Dates. You probably need to contact whoever is the Administrator on your account to find out how they have these dates set up.
This document might be helpful for understanding why you can't see your gradebook:
I know this is an old question and you may know by now, but you should be able to view other terms if you click on the "apply filters" button and then select a different grading period.
I can view other terms, but the problem is that if I want to have an assignment due on October 23, the day 1st term ends, I want the assignment to be counted on 2nd term's grades. There is no way to do that on Canvas. I have to fudge the due date to during 2nd quarter.
