Group Discussion and Self-Sign Ups Issue

I have created an assignment that was in a locked module (open August 26th). I created self-sign up group set in the People tab a week before and also created a Discussion board that I then set to group assignment and connected the group set.

As of today, Sept 2, there are no "unassigned" students -they have all joined or been put in a group.

It is assigned to "Everyone".

What I am seeing though is students that are;

  1. Currentinly in Group A but
  2. Their posts are appearing in the "main" board and NOT in their group discussion.


This is only happening to a few students.

What is going on? I would expect to only see conversations *in* their assigned groups.
