Group Discussions - Groups Showing that are not assigned to discussion

I'm having an issue where when I assign a group discussion to a specific set of groups, other groups (not assigned that are from a different group set) are also showing up on the discussion.  How can I remove the "other" groups from this discussion when they are not technically "assigned" to the discussion in the settings? 

Sorry if that doesn't make sense.  It's not making sense to me either!

I would make sure that you have the discussion group set correctly, as shown here in this guide:

If these students who are not supposed to see this are in that group set, you should be able to edit the group set following this:

Also curious, are these other students who shouldn't be seeing this assigned to the sections under the "post to" area?
