Hi, I'm a teacher and my course already closed, but I need to continue using it. How can I reopen it?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@PALOMAMORENO ...
You might need to have a conversation with your school's Canvas administrator or someone from their Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Education department team about re-opening your course. There may be policies and procedures in place already regarding this. Also, I'm curious to know what you mean by "need to continue using it". Do you mean that you just need to access course content from a past semester for a bit longer? Do you mean that you are wanting to use the same course for a new semester with new students? If the latter is true, this isn't a recommended practice at most schools. Rather, you'd want to have a new course shell created and then import (copy) the contents from the previous course into the new course. Again, I would recommend having a conversation with your Ed Tech team at your school to see what they recommend. Good luck!

If you still need to collect and grade student work for a student who has an Incomplete grade, then you need to talk with your institution.
If you simply want to edit content for next semester, then you have two options:
When you import content, I strongly recommend that you "remove" the dates. Also, I recommend that you choose the option to import "selected" content so you can choose what you want to bring over.
