If you have permission to add users to a course, some schools don't allow this, you can use the People tab and:

1. Click on People
2. Click on the +People button
3. Select the button next to Email
4. Enter the email address
5. Select the Role
6. Click Next
7. Click Add Users

 @camannin , if your school allows its teachers to manage users, the instructions in https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-26558-how-do-i-add-users-to-a-course explain how to add students through the People tab. However, many school districts manage enrollments on teachers' behalf, so if you don't see +People on the page, please contact the local Canvas admin or eLearning department for the district to make the request.
