How do I create a downloadable audio file in either an assignment or page?

I'm an orchestra director, and I'm trying to create an assignment that contains a downloadable "click-track" audio file for students to download onto either their own computers or devices. They will listen to this while recording their part into a Canvas assignment. Any help is great!

I apologize if I'm not understanding snugent, but the OP asked about an audio file and you replied about a video file.

When I click on my audio file, I don't have the controls indicated in the solution for video options.

Yes! Please show us the instructions for an audio file! The only way we have figured out to add audio download links is with a complicated solution that involves copying old code.
