How do you make students re-view content if they do not complete their assignment to 100% completion mark?
I have an e-learning course they must watch then answer a quiz and if they do not get 100 % I want them to be taken back to the content to rewatch then do the quiz again. The quiz is created with H5P

Hi @GarethRadford,
Thanks for your question!
In Canvas, while there isn’t a built-in feature to automatically redirect students back to content based on quiz performance, you can achieve a similar outcome by setting up module requirements and prerequisites.
Here’s how you can approach it:
-
Use Modules to Structure Your Course: Place your e-learning content (e.g., video or H5P content) and the associated H5P quiz inside a Canvas module.
-
Set Requirements for the Module:
-
For the content item (e.g., the video or H5P object), set a requirement like “must view the item.”
-
For the H5P quiz, set the requirement to “score at least 100%” (if available via the tool or gradebook integration).
-
-
Enable Prerequisites on the Following Module (if needed)
If you want students to retake the current module until they achieve 100%, you can restrict access to the next module until all requirements are met. -
For H5P Specifically:
If your H5P quiz is embedded via the H5P plugin (LTI integration), and it reports scores to the Canvas gradebook, you can use the grade requirement as described above.
However, Canvas doesn’t loop students back automatically, so you’ll need to clearly instruct them in the module description or assignment instructions:
“If you do not score 100% on the quiz, please rewatch the video and attempt the quiz again until full marks are achieved.”
Let me know if this will help. Have a great day!
