How do you turn off the incorrect spelling indicator on canvas text submissions (on Browser and on Student app)?

We have Writing evaluations and students who type int he text box are alerted that a word is spelled incorrectly.   Is there a way to turn this off on BOTH the Student App and also the Browser?  Thanks!

Hi @Hildi_Pardo,

I don't believe there is a way to turn that off, as the spell checking is generally a function provided by web browsers wherever text boxes occur.  There is a method to disable spell check in HTML, but I don't think Canvas ever exposes the option, likely because of the extra complexity that would to every single place where a textbox could appear in Canvas.

Sorry I don't have better news for you on this, but I hope it at least answers the question.
