This will depend upon how Santa Fe Community College has things configured for you to sign in to Canvas.  Every school that uses Canvas as their LMS (Learning Management System) sets up the process to login to their Canvas environment differently.  So, what may be true for my Technical College may not be the same for your Community College.  You'd need to contact folks at your school who know more about the frequency of password changes to get specifics.  I browsed your college's website a bit, and I found a couple pages that might be helpful to you:
