I just tried this in my own sandbox course to confirm that it works. Try this:
- Go to your "Quizzes" index page within your Canvas course.
- Find the quiz that you want to make a copy of, and then click on the three dots icon to the far right side of the screen for that quiz.
- Select "Copy to..."
- In the "Begin typing to search" text box, type the name of the course that you are currently logged into, and then click on the course name when it comes up in your search results.
- (Optional) Select the module in which you want your quiz to be copied to.
- If you selected a module, select the placement of the quiz.
This should create a duplicate of the quiz for you to edit which should not affect the original quiz.
The other way to do this is similar to the above...except that you would use the course copy tool to select specific content to copy. Again, you would select the same course that you are already logged into...instead of selecting a completely different course.
