I LOST ALL MY WORK BECAUSE OF YOU CANVAS!!!
WHY DO YOU NOT HAVE A AUTO SAVE FEATURE FOR TEXT ENTRY WORK!!!! I JUST LOST A 600 WORD TEXT ENTRY ASSIGNMENT AND NOW I CANT GET IT BACK THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR FEATURES!!!!!!!!!!!

That must have been incredibly frustrating!
Those of us who grew up on computers of the '80s and '90 have developed a Save habit, and yet still get bitten once in a while. I typically suggest to my students to do their longer entries in Word or Google docs first, then copy paste into Canvas. However, this is a pain, but beyond Google, auto-save is still rather rare.
You can help Instructure improve Canvas through Idea Conversations in this Community, where users create and support ideas for new or improved features. I just checked in there and found Auto Save or Save Warning. Check out this idea, add your own comments and support by rating the idea.
