Hi,

Our clients are facing an issue where images are disappearing when duplicating a course.
They add images in canvas as background-images to the anchor tag<a>. The course was then duplicated,
We inspected the duplicated page and found that background-image url was changed to different pattern starting with $CANVAS_COURSE_REFERENCE$ and this url is not working.

I have attached the screenshots of both original page with the image and duplicated page that misses the image. In screenshots, the arrow is the image inside the column nearby "Lets do it" text.
Has anyone came across this issue or have a solution?

Hello @PriyaShriram

Thank you for contacting Canvas Support. We're sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with images disappearing when copying courses over. Thank you for providing the screenshots of the inspect tool. Sometimes, depending on how an image was embedded  or uploaded to a course, that old URL association will make an image "disappear" or become unavailable to students in the current course. Based on the information provided, it would be best to speak with you directly and get specifics in this situation. Are there multiple <a> tag anchors being targeted perhaps and what exactly is the source of the JQuery code here? One easy way to tell the difference is if you are in edit mode, click on the image itself and go to "image options." It will give you the URL associated  with the image and we can quickly tell if it is part of an older course or not. Because of the complexity of the issue, and the concerns for privacy, it would be best if you contacted Canvas Support directly to pinpoint the source of the issue and provide a resolution:
