Incorrect Translation Using Speedgrader's Audio Comments

Good morning! A faculty member has reported an error with the audio comment option in Speedgrader (that I was able to confirm as an admin). They state it no longer recognizes when a punctuation mark is to be used - i.e., saying the name of a punctuation mark does not generate that mark. In the attached screenshot, you can see where a (.) should go, instead of the word "period." I also confirmed this with other punctuation marks, but am unable to determine if it was working prior to the faculty member's report.

Thank you for contacting the Instructure Community. We're sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with speedgrader audio comments. Have you tried to  replicate the actual behavior  on your end? While masquerading as the user or under your own account? It should be entering the (.) and not (period)  and It is likely their internet browser and we recommend clearing the cache and cookies or trying another browser. I have seen other instances of  this in the past but it is rare and abnormal behavior. It could be the browser itself and current version,  the device they are using, etc. If no basic troubleshooting resolves this, you'll likely  want to contact  Canvas Support and they can investigate the issue.

Because of the complexity of the issue, and the concerns for privacy, it would be best if you contacted Canvas Support directly to pinpoint the source of the issue and provide a resolution:

Hello, @greydon -

Per my initial response, I was able to replicate this as an admin (indicated in the screenshot) and while masquerading as the instructor. I was also able to replicate the issue in Quality Matters' Canvas LMS (second screenshot attached). The most up-to-date version of Google Chrome is used in all instances and clearing cache/cookies does not resolve the issue (I tried Incognito Mode to be sure). I have reached out to my LMS team and will be creating a case with Canvas Support.
