Inserting images uploaded from my computer in a message

Inserting images uploaded from my computer in a message shows up as a link in the message and not the actual image . Clicking on the link downloads it back on to my computer. How can I resolve this?

What you are describing is expected behavior.  Canvas Inbox is a messaging system, not a full email client. For example, it doesn't have the full text editor functions that other pages in Canvas include. When you attach images they are treated the same as a document or video file would be, that is, a file to be downloaded. 

If this is a message that you want to send to the everyone enrolled you might prefer to send an announcement which will allow you to insert an image with the text.

Thanks gnoack for the prompt response. I tried this too however my issue was image not showing as a pic in the message while it was showing up for others. This got resolved by clicking on the check box to mark it as a decorative image when uploading the image as suggested by the moderator of the course.
