When I insert any image, doc, or item it only shows as a link. I've tried many ways with no luck. Please help.

Hi, @BernadetteVilla !
For images, you can copy/paste from another location, or you can use the image icon in the RCE toolbar. This article explains how.
For documents, this article explains how to upload the file (PDF, Word, etc). The default is for it to be a link that expands when clicked. If you scroll down to "View Document Link", it explains how to make the file expand by default so that students don't have to click on it (Link Options --> Preview Inline + Expand preview by default).
Hope this helps!
Sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue. There are many reasons why, mostly documents (pdfs, Word etc) will appear as links especially when you highlight the text and insert the link.
To understand your issue, when you upload an image where from the RTE are you selecting to add this? Does this happen for images you have uploaded to files?
Thanks
Jen

Try exporting your image as a jpeg. I had the same issue for my photo I took on my phone, but I was able to display my image instead of a link by changing my digital format.
