I need to conduct a course assessment on approximately 20 sections of one class at my institution. The exam tool has been created and the institutional outcomes have been tagged for each item. The tool has been flawlessly launched in all of our blueprint copied classes. However, we have 9 sections of the class that are NOT blueprint copied. Individual instructors have created their own canvas sites. When I give these instructors the exam tool and they place it in their class the outcomes are no longer tagged. How do I give them the exam tool and preserve the tagged outcomes?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Have you tried sharing the exam via a common cartridge?
This would involve you exporting your course from Course Settings, then sharing that .imscc file with the instructors. From there, the instructor would go to their own course and choose Import Existing Content --> Canvas Course Export Package. They would select your .imscc file and choose "Select specific content". The specific content they will want is the quiz and Outcomes. That should import the exam along with Outcomes, which will come over attached to the questions.
Let me know if this works!

I have a related question as we are working through this as well. If we build Blueprint course templates and the faculty use that to bring in the designated course outcomes and state assessments, will we be able to pull college wide data out?
Can I build the outcomes in the blueprint course ONLY or do I have to use the GLOBAL Outcomes and then migrate those into the course blueprint outcome area to do this large institutional pull? I am concerned that there will be a lot of outcomes in the GLOBAL Outcomes area as things do change every 5 years AND we have a lot of courses to measure.
Maybe we just map a sample instead of everything?
What are others doing to make this feasible?
Thanks,
Jodi
