Instructor: SpeedGrader random alphabetization

An instructor reported that SpeedGrader is randomly sorting students when selecting sort by student name.  When sorted the list of students (105) is apparently being segmented.  Those segments are alphabetized in reverse alphabetical order, but then the segments aren't in the correct order.  For example, the first segment listed starts with a Z skips to several P's (not all of them) and runs through K (again not all of the students), starts back at a single Z all the way through A's skipping several letters then starts back at J and finishes what is left of the list. The students are not in groups or sections.  The assignment is assigned to Everyone.  I can't figure out a solution or what the issue maybe.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're not the only Canvas user who has reported this issue. Please contact Canvas Support so they can look at your gradebook and document their findings. This will help our engineers replicate the issue and then create a fix. Thank you!
