Hello Canvas Community! We have had numerous (more than five) reports of parents trying to set up observer accounts for their students and they are continuously getting "invalid pairing code" errors. I have actually gotten this error myself. It took three different pairing codes before one would take. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I have requested that each parent provide me with the pairing codes they are getting the errors on, but none have responded to my request so far.
Thanks in advance,
Amber Batten

Hey Chris! Yes, I believe the issue ended up being that extra code was
copying and observers were copying and pasting the codes. If they typed it
in, there didn't seem to be an issue.

Hi,
I was having similar issues when trying to create a parent account on my PC (using browser: Chrome Version 85.0.4183.83) on 9/3/2020. After trying 3 - 4 different codes, I mentioned the error to my child's teacher and I'm not sure if she reported/submitted the issue. Though I decided to try it again yesterday and it worked! The only I advice I would offer is to triple check the code you typed and also whether you type or copy+paste the code, to ensure there aren't extra spaces before of after the code when submitting it.
Good luck!
Hello there, @amber_batten ...
I am reviewing some of the older questions here in the Canvas Community, and I came across your question. While I'm not sure I have an answer for you, I did want to check in because I noticed that we've not heard back from you since you first posted your question on September 4, 2019. It looks like you may have stumped the Community with your question. Have you been able to find any solutions on your own that you would be willing to share with us back here in this topic? Or, are you still looking for some help with your question from Community members? Either way, we would like to hear from you. For the time being, I am going to mark your question as "Assumed Answered"...not because we've been able to find a solution for you...but more because we've not heard back from you and because there hasn't been any new activity in this topic for five months. However, that won't prevent you or others from posting additional questions and/or comments below that are related to this question. I hope that's okay with you, Amber. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.

I am still getting the invalid pair code message after typing the code on myself. I have tried at least ten different codes.
I have been trying for 3 days to get the pairing codes to work. I have tried typing it in myself and the copy & paste, none of which are working. Any other suggestions to try? I have probably been through 30+ codes and all say they are invalid.
Hi,
I have typed in the pairing code given and it is still saying "invalid pairing code"
