Irritating notification badge won't go away

I have this that won't go away no matter what I click in the community pages, and it keeps distracting me when working on assignments. I can't block the element with UBlock like I usually would.  It says "3 unread release notes" when I inspect it. How do I get rid of it?

I'm trying to make sure I am clear about where you are seeing it. It appears similar to what I see within Canvas. If that's the case, for me, I just click on the notification and it expands to show me the current release notes. It also allows you to click the check mark "Show badges for new release notes." This will activate/deactivate the notifications. Not sure if that helps.

Thank you!! Before when I clicked on it, it redirected me here, to the community. Not sure why, but it opens the menu like you said now.

It's possible that your attempts to maintain privacy may actually be causing the issue. I value my privacy and normally block as many tracking cookies as I can. However, there are some Canvas-essential sites that need to be enabled for full functionality. There are still some domains that aren't listed in the cookies so they may get blocked. Rather than manually trying to allow the entire list of sites, it is easier to just disable my ad blocker and enable third party cookies for Canvas.

Canvas doesn't use Google tracking anymore and when I look at the cookies that are being used, I feel comfortable with my decision to remove my protections for my Canvas site. Note that your institution may load some JavaScript that invokes third-party resources even if Canvas itself doesn't.

As @WendellDuncan mentioned, you can disable those badges showing at all.
