I have a training on power point. Is it possible to import the training into canvas? Or alternatively is it possible to import from EdApp?
Hi @GemaRuber ...
If you are just wanting to display a PowerPoint file in a content page of your course, you can follow either of these Guides:
Please let Community members know if you have any other questions about this...thanks!
I want to import so that it becomes the course content just like you are importing from blackboard or from an exported Canvas file. I don't want it to be just an attachment. I have this training created in EdApp and then I recreated it in power point since there was no way to export to pd the slides and EdApp support said if we want to export or lead a class guided training we will be better to use Canvas. In EdApp there is an option to upload a powerpoint presetation and convert it into a training so is it possible with Canvas?
@GemaRuber ...
Thank you for the additional information. To my knowledge, there is no way to upload a PowerPoint presentation to Canvas and have it convert to an entire course layout with modules, units, etc. You would need to build out your content in your Canvas course and then add any course content to those pages for your students to consume.
I see that @chriscas is helping you in this thread: Download a training I created into pdf or powerpoi... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com) ... so he may also have some ideas for you.
Are you saying that it is possible to create the training and define modules and then parts of the powerpoint presetation into the corresponding modules as training pages?
@GemaRuber ...
No. This is not possible. You can certainly create your own modules and then add in content such as content pages, discussion topics, quizzes, assignments, etc. However, as I stated earlier, Canvas cannot take a PowerPoint presentation and somehow extract it to individual modules to build out an entire course/training based on slides in that PPT file.
