Is it possible to receive an inbox reply from a course that I am no longer in?

I inbox messaged my professor last night because I had accidentally dropped the course she was teaching. 

When I woke up this morning, the course seems to have disappeared from my Canvas Course list and I am just worried that I won't be able to get a response from her.

Should I try to reach her directly through our university email instead?

Hi @cool_penguin 

If you were able to send the message (did you get confirmation? Is it in your "Sent" box?), your teacher most likely got it, and she can reply.

However, if this is a course you need, then I would most certainly suggest you contact the teacher by any and all means available.
