Linking to External Tools on a Template

Hello everybody,

I have built a course template for my institution and I have included a "Syllabus" navigation button at the bottom of the home page. Our institution requires instructors to use Simple Syllabus to build and present their syllabi. Since different instructors will be using this template, I need this button to link to each of their Simple Syllabus pages without having to do it manually each time. I haven't found a successful way to do this since Simple Syllabus is an external tool. Is there any way to do this?

I recently started working for a college in Detroit in September, and we use Simple Syllabus, too.  Do you have the Simple Syllabus LTI integration set up in Canvas?  Note, I started my new job after Simple Syllabus was already installed at our Canvas account level, so I don't know all the details of how it was set up.  But, I do know that each of our courses has a "Simple Syllabus" course navigation menu button, and when instructors and students click on that button in their courses, the proper Simple Syllabus shows up in the course.  I know that our ITS team does some back-end work to make sure that our courses in Simple Syllabus are getting connected to the courses in Canvas, but I'm not sure what all is involved there.  My short experience with Simple Syllabus so far has been there is a back-end admin website to access Simple Syllabus where our main template is created/stored, and then that template is used within the "Simple Syllabus" LTI integration within Canvas.

I'm not sure if any of this helps or not, but I wanted to share what my experience with Simple Syllabus has been thus far.  I hope it helps in some way...thanks!
